About Dr. Mary WellhonerIlluminations Medical Spa Physician University of California in San Diego
Her interest in Aesthetic Medicine came about because, as Dr. Wellhoner says “I have come to realize that skin health, self esteem and a positive self image are essential elements of overall wellness. I am thrilled to be Medical Director of a medical spa which not only addresses physical appearance, but also recognizes your inner beauty, which comes from spiritual development, emotional health, exercise and nutrition.”

Dr. Mary Wellhoner received her medical degree from the University of California in San Diego, and completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque in 1992. Nine years ago she founded the Women’s Wellness Center in Reno, which strives to integrate conventional medicine and alternative approaches, with particular emphasis on menopausal and sexual health, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, nutrition, and pelvic floor therapy and reconstruction. Dr. Wellhoner also has a longstanding interest in global health, has worked in a number of developing countries, and is currently completing a Masters in Public Health through Johns Hopkins University.
