Hyperpigmentation Removal

Hyperpigmentation Removal

Getting rid of “age spots” is just a light beam away. In addition to aging, sun damage is a culprit behind dark spots on the skin, although even acne can cause hyperpigmentation. No matter the underlying reason for the skin damage, gentle laser pulses affordably and painlessly rid the area of unwanted pigmentations in just a few treatments.

What Can Laser Pigmentation Removal Do For Me?

We can’t stop the aging process, but we sure can slow it down some by the removal of unsightly pigmentation with our state-of-the-art Cynosure Elite 755 Alexandrite and 1064 YAG lasers.

Of course, you can also target sun damaged spots and blotches and even freckles, in addition to age spots. Any scattered pigmentation that you don’t want or that creates an uneven, blotchy skin tone can be removed.

Is Laser Pigmentation Removal Painful?

No. In most cases, patients say the discomfort is minimal or there is no pain at all. The laser we use covers a small area at a time and the spectrum of light is specifically directed to the lesion, allowing for exact results, fast. For those with ultra-sensitive skin, we apply a very strong topical anesthetic to the area being treated.

How Long Is One Appointment?

Pretty short! Plan to spend between 15-30 minutes for one complete laser pigmentation removal treatment.

What Can I Expect After Laser Pigmentation Removal?

You may experience some redness and swelling within the first 12 hours, and then slight scabbing will occur. It usually takes between 7-10 days for the scabbing to slough off, but can take as long as 3 weeks, at which time your complexion will be noticeably clearer and appear more tightened and toned.

How Does Laser Pigmentation Removal Work?

All pigmented lesions contain a certain amount of a pigment called melanin, which absorbs light. It’s this melanin that allows lasers to target only the pigment for very precise destruction, while leaving the surrounding tissue intact.

How Long Will My Results Last?

Everyone’s level of prior sun damage is different. Most people see years go by before they ever need another treatment. However, since the spots we treat (the ones you see) are from previous years of sun exposure, there is no true way to find out just how deep your sun damage lies. It may take a couple treatments to address  your specific concerns. Once the area has the desired results, sunscreen and limiting your future sun exposure is the only true way to help prevent future sun damage.
