Juvederm™
For even longer lasting and smoother results than those seen with Restylane™, Juvéderm™ Gel Filler (a less concentrated natural injectable gel) is used to painlessly soften or completely eliminate the appearance of wrinkles, and to enhance the size of the lips.
What Can Juvederm™ Do For Me?
If you want to smooth facial wrinkles and plump up lips instantly, this clear non-animal based injectable gel may be the perfect treatment for you.
Are Juvederm™ Treatments Limited To The Face?
No, but the face is the most common area we treat with Juvéderm™. Specifically (in addition to the lips), standard areas of treatment are the frown or glabellar lines (between the eyebrows); the deep creases that some people have from nose to mouth called nasolabial folds; and the ‘marionette’ lines at the corners of the mouth.
Do Juvederm™ Treatments Hurt?
Our clients have always been pleasantly surprised at the relative painlessness of the Juvéderm™ injections. We use Juvederm™ Ultra XC which contains the anesthetic lidocaine in the product itself to help minimize any discomfort. In addition to the expertise of our staff at giving the tiny injections and the silk-like fineness of the needles, we use ice before and after injections, plus an anesthetic prior to treatment if needed.
How Long Does Each Juvederm™ Treatment Take?
Plan for a 45-60 minute visit.
Are Juvederm™ Treatment Results Immediate?
Yes, you will see the results immediately upon treatment. Please note that there is usually a period of redness or swelling that can last from a few hours to a couple of days, after which the final result is evident.
How Long Does Each Juvederm™ Treatment Last?
Here’s the biggest difference between Juvéderm™ and Restylane™. A Juvéderm™ treatment lasts for about 6-9 months (not 6 months as in the case of Restylane™) in areas such as the nasolabial folds and creases between the eyebrows, at which time a follow-up treatment is recommended.
What Exactly Is Juvederm™?
Juvederm™ is a non-animal based injectable dermal filler, made of the same hyaluronic acid that is also the main ingredient in Restylane™ (although in a higher concentration) and which is completely biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid. Juvederm™ tends to be smoother and has a greater fluidity than Restylane™, which may make it ultimately less bumpy and painful when injected
Pre Treatment Information for Juvederm
Please do not take any blood thinning medication such as: Advil, Aspirin, Aleve, Vitamin E, Fish Oil and any other medication that might thin your blood 5-7 days prior to your treatment. These things can cause an increased risk in bruising in the injection site area. You are more than welcome to take Tylenol in its place.
